Monaco 15 was not the race of the year by the simple virtue of the fact that it was not a race at all. It was a time trial by Kiprop, and the "race for second place" by Farah. Go watch it again.
The Gladwell troll thread was, in my opinion, more impressive than Gladwell's own thread, because it demonstrated true troll mastery in drawing a famous lurker out into the open and effectively toyed with a "great thinker."
IMHO the race of the year has to go to Farah vs Bekele vs Haile in the Half, sure the time wasn't anything incredible but you had 3 GOATs going at it, and arguably one of the greatest road races of all time...and man, did Farah make up ground on the last 400 or what?
When i think race, i think of a battle between two or more competitors to the end. I think there should be a 'Greatest Performance" category, going to people who ran great times ala Kipsang's world record, and Kiprop's 1500.
That one escaped my thoughts! I'd definitely put that one up there, and I was very happy for Bekele to show some strength again.
