This year during freshman track, I will peak at 45 miles a week. I will then finish the rest of track at around 42 miles a week after my 4 week peak mileage. After track I will take 2 weeks of jogging doing about 40 miles a week. After that I am taking 12 weeks building up from 45- 52 miles a week. The next 6 weeks I will slowly go down from 52 to 50. The next 7 weeks during school while doing a 5k race every Saturday, I will do around 49-50 miles a week. When I get 2 weeks from district race, I will bump down to 40 miles a week for the rest of season.
Tell me what you think of this mileage progression and tell me if it is safe and will work to get me to sub 16:50 5k if done right and healthy. I just want to get good and be healthy all the time.
