Hey! Do any of you know what brand/kind of shades Mizuki Noguchi was wearing in the Olympic Marathon? I don't usually run in glasses, but those looked comfortable to me....
Thanks in advance!

got any pictures?
I was just reading about her sunglasses today. They're made by Yamamoto Kogaku:
"The 26-year-old wore Yamamoto Kogaku sunglasses and Asics running shoes during the 42.195-kilometer race.
The optical product maker, based in Higashi-Osaka, Osaka Prefecture, developed the sunglasses specifically for Noguchi. They were designed to keep from moving up and down when Noguchi took her characteristically long strides."
Here's what they look like ...

Those are crazy.
did she drink vaam?
Since the Kobe half marathon, where mizuki crushed tegla laroupe she's been running with her lucky charm can anyone guess what it is? Also, Mizuki enjoys foreign men and likes the reverse cowgirl prosition as well as from behind(on a bed) with the male standing.
mizuki does not drink Vaam! Mizuki is under contract to endorse the otsuka product Amino Value
In that photo Mizuki is drinking a creatine, glucose and amino value blend diluted with 20% tap water.
goddammit she's cute.
I like the photo of mizuki breaking the tape in victory; she looks so great. This may seem premature, but I think that mizuki, tosa, sakamoto, the ominami twins, Q-chan(takahashi), chiba really are the best. Radcliffe, Ndereba(who just fell apart on the climbs and only closed on the flats, okayo(totally I drug user) are nowhere near as tough as the japanese. Damn, they're tough.
Mizuki-chan is a real wildcat in the sack. In Saint-Moritz and in Vancouver she went for about a solid 90 minutes before saying "prease cum! prease cum!" Awesome lady. I hope that she kicks ass in Berlin.

Jason?
Where's Jason?? I'm sure we need his calming influence on this matter.
I know who the "reilly" guy is, but I am not saying. It is not me.
He has my disease.....YELLOW FEVER!! (Especially Japanese female runners).
What I can tell you with complete honesty is that I did meet Mizuki in St. Moritz and I told her that she could win the Gold. She and her coaches were all friendly to me. They said "What about Radcliffe." I said, "Don't worry about her, just run."
Mizuki is cuter in person that on the TV. She is built like a fire hydrant, a small, cute, fast fire hydrant!!!
That is most likely not VAAM she is drinking. Vaam is not yellow/gold in color. She is probably drinking some kind of carbohydrate/amino drink that was specially formulated for her and the conditions in Athens.
Jason
Thanks for the info, Late Bloomer! :)
victory smile
Thank goodness for the shaved pits, the Chinese lady in the 10000 was a bit scary...or hairy.
Hey Jason,
are there many money races in Japan through out the year?
ive heard of the Ekiden races but dont know much about them.
could You make a living racing in Japan?
thanks
The prize money situation in Japan is well, a bit different.
In order for YOU, an American runner, to make money in Japan at races you will need to be a 1:02/2:09 type of runner in the half/full marathon.
There IS prize money in the big races such as Fukuoka/Biwa/Tokyo marathons, but it is for foriegners only.
Get this, it is ILLEGAL to give prize money in road races to the Japanese runners.
Races like Fukuoka and Biwa-ko give out large appearance fees to guys like Pena, Abera, but the whole system in Japan is meant to support the Japanese corporate team system.
Another messed up thing about the Japanese races is that there is NO Race Day registration.
In order to register for any race in Japan you have to sign up about 2 months in advance at least.
If you are in Japan and suddenly your training is going GREAT and you want to race the coming weekend, well, unless your name is Naoko Takahashi or Khalid Khannouchi, you are pretty well screwed.
Outside of the big races such as the Nagano Marathon, Fukuoka, Kyoto Half, etc., there are very very few English race applications or even basic information.
There ARE tons of races every weekend in Japan, but you need to have a translator to find out about them at all, and again, you need to sign up for them months in advance, all for no prize money. It's just JAPAN.
If you want to make prize money and you are a sub 2;20 marathoner, go to THAILAND.

Where are you getting this information, Reilly? The Japanese are very detail oriented. I don't think that Mizuki has had a drop of tap water in her body for over 10 years.
They probably used imported bottled water from Switzerland, or else distilled water. I'm calling your bluff.
