In case you haven't see the story (http://www.the-star.co.ke/news/article-148037/top-cop-took-sh900000-athlete-david-rudisha), it's come out that 800 world record holder David Rudisha, who is apparently also a police officer in Kenya, paid another police officer $10,500.
That officer has been questioned about that payment and other payments.
Kenyans, the article doesn't have any info on why Rudisha was paying the money. Does anyone have any insight?
Was he being blackmailed?
Was he trying to get some sort of promotion?
PS. And Rudisha is a police officer why? Can people imagine the outrage in America if Lebron James was on government salary as a police officer.
Although, maybe the Kenyans have it better than we do. In the US, we just hand our sports stars millions in a less direct but more egregious way by building their mult-million dollar stadiums.
