These would be Mo Farah's PRs if he were in a fast rabbited race and went for it. Prove me wrong.

I don't think anybody with a brain cell would disagree with that statement.
Ok. He's been in a fast rabbited 5000m and has not run that time. He's been in a fast 10000m not run that time. It's not my responsibility to prove you wrong, it's your responsibility to present evidence to support a claim that will never happen. Good luck.

try more like 12'40
that 5kpb of 12'53 coupla years was a joke
they jogged the 4th km & he finished in 53-flat !!!
he was already in 12'45 shape that day if the pace had been hard in 4th km
he's had 2y of improvement since then, certainly in speed - he was maybe good for 3'30 that day but has now gone 3'28
if he doesn't become 4th man at ~ 12'40/better by career end, he shoud be disappointed
Just asking you guys wrote:

Really? Which races were those?
1/2 dozen guys went < 12'50 in paris last year with geb2 finishing 54+ in 12'46 !!!
mo was adamant he wouda challenged for the win if he'd been in that race, which probably meant close to a 12'40, as a 12'46 with a 54 finish is helluva lot quicker than a 12'45 at even pace

Not going to argue what could have been, but he will be 31 shortly and the wheels WILL come off at some point. Last year really had the feeling of "peak performance". 3:28? Come on...
oh please wrote:Not going to argue what could have been, but he will be 31 shortly and the wheels WILL come off at some point. Last year really had the feeling of "peak performance". 3:28? Come on...
he is best coached/backed-up pro in the game today
i had hard time swallowing predictor calling him 3'28 before monaco & i got that prediction from software almost 2/12 before monaco, when he ran 50.8 finish & felt almost embarassed/reticent posting it & waited for the volcano of abuse
i got plentya ridicule for it
i'll take whatever thrown after this :
if he somehow keeps his '13 shape after his ? $1 million payday for next year's M
he can run, as he couda in monaco
7'18
Ventolin you're out of your mind. A 26:30 runner doesn't lose a 60:10 half marathon race. Farah has done absolutely nothing to show he is in that shape.
Done absolutely nothing? You're the one who is out of your mind.

Yes absolutely nothing. If you have a different opinion, then provide some evidence to back it up. Don't just insult me.
I can do that to.
Prove me wrong.

get a clue
he's a "speed" 10k guy, capable of 26'30 off primary 5k based training
he is a 5k/lesser 10k guy
a reverse tergat
60-flat for mo was damn good for him off primary 5k training or did you not notice that he actually dropped a once 26'17 guy in that race but "allowed" him back ???
Your post was stupid and ignorant, you also insulted ventolin, and yet you are taking offense at my reply?

My post was not stupid nor ignorant. It was an opinion. I did not take offense at your reply. You're making things up. All I said was that you need to provide some evidence instead of solely insulting me. Learn to read.

Get off mo's dick. Mo was a scrub runner from 2005-2010. Its laughable that he "suddenly" become good in his late 20's even though he was training for the past 10 years (it wasn't like he just started). I mean this guy couldn't even crack 13:05 from 2006 to 2009. And now in his early 30's you're talking 12:40. How come he wasn't running at this level 10 years ago in his early 20's like pretty much every other all time great? How is this different from sergio sanchez? Open your eyes folks.

Exactly. He will never run those times. He's moving to the marathon and I can't imagine Alberto allowing him to try and chase times. Won't happen.
Idiot posts as usual for letsrun. Everyone's an expert blah blah blah

The winning time is irrelevant and has nothing to do with his 10k shape.

If he had won then maybe not, but since he lost it shows he had no more in the tank. A 60:00 half should be a training effort for a 26:30 runner. Never mind the fact that he didn't run any time close to that level in THE WHOLE YEAR. In fact, I recall him dodging Bekele at Pre.
