hi i have been thinking about events i could do in track and field and one of them is the high jump.
high jumping looks fun. i feel that if i train in high jump i could do good in it.
i have never really tried it. i also don't have a high vertical. im 6ft 1in and i can't even touch rim. im also not fast at all. my 100m time is 15s.
i heard that jumpers in track and squat a lot. i can't. i use to be able to squat 180lbs but i can't anymore. now i can squat only about 125lbs.
will i be able to be good at high jump if i don't have a high vertical jump and if i can't squat that much.
im a 16 year old boy who is training for the outdoor season in march. im in a winter track class and i train as a sprinter since the class is mainly for sprinters and distance runners. we lift twice a week and run twice a week.
