Who do you think will be chosen?
Who do you think will be chosen?
Monarch seems like a very good bet on the girls side, and maybe Central Catholic for the guys? Hard to say until tomorrow.
NY could get two depending on where Toga finishes.
FM for the win, Northport or Liverpool for 2nd.
Cali will get two boys wild-cards. I think Dyestat has five of them ranked in the top 11.
Im thinking Hinsdale Central from IL (named "The Dale" in results) won IL state pretty convincingly, even though a couple of teams(York & Hersey) blew up and others stepped up (Downers' Grove & O'Fallon)

I hope dyestat's rankings don't have too much influence.
A team I coached about 6 years ago tied (and lost the tie-breaker) to a Nationally ranked team.
The next rankings came out and they were still ranked and we were not.
I emailed and asked why and I was told it was because we don't go to enough "big" meets.
We tied a team ranked, we should have been ranked close to them.
Eventually we got Honorable Mention.
cool story bro

You are either not remembering correctly, or you misunderstood what I said.
Going to "big" meets doesn't play a role in the rankings, because I don't go by head to head results at all before the state meets.

Rankings don't play a role in who gets selected. I have voted against my rankings before because there is different criteria involved... and the rankings (obviously) don't yet include NXN-NE, NXN-NY, NXN-SE, or the California State meet.
California may get 2 boys teams in, or they may get 0. Depends entirely upon how well they race tomorrow (and how the teams in other regions race tomorrow).
Liverpool of NY will get an At-Large bid, but no NY girls team will receive one.
Looking at the results from NXN NY/NE it looks like the 3rd girls team from the NE could be in the running over East Aurora.
When are the at-large teams announced?
Feel like NY is in a bit of a down year compared to others. FM is great and the favorite as always and they dominated at Bowdoin today but Saratoga's been hit/miss (today it was hit) and East Aurora probably won't even get an at large.
Side note: anyone hear about the controversy from the EA girl transferring there just after the NY state meet and then running for them today? Under NYS rules she'd have to sit out and I think some people were pissed off she was able to run for them today (Nike's meet, Nike's rules), but apparently it won't matter.

Probably tomorrow morning, although maybe tonight.
Nike will send out a release after they have finished contacting all the teams that get invited. Those teams will be notified after the Selection Committee decides on who those 4 teams are... which should be done tonight, unless the process takes us into a second meeting tomorrow.

On the girls side, I agree - guys were definitely not down, this looks like New York's best year ever on the boys side (unless there were some better years in the 70s or something like that?).
Definitely no at large teams from NY that can't beat toga's mouseketeers!

How do you know? I don't really understand the selection process. Thanks.
Southlake Carroll (Tx) gets one of the girls at large bids.

Davis girls and Dana Hills boys get at larges from California.
