I'm applying to colleges and really want to major in PT. But I also know that going to an Ivy will give me the most opportunity down the road. Why don't these schools have the major I want? I thought they were supposed to be on the forefront of education and I can't even major in one of the most practical and employable subjects!
The bigger question is why you would want to spend $55,000 grand a year going into a field that any decent state school can give you a great opportunity in.
Not to mention the 3 years of graduate school you'll have to do. Do you really want to spend $350,000 for a degree that gets you $60,000-$70,000 max? Is it worth paying student loans for your entire working career so you can say you went to an Ivy League school?
Go to a good, cheap state school, major in biology, get good grades, do observations at a PT clinic. Then go to a quality, but not too expensive graduate program. Plus if you really are Ivy League material, you should be able to get a scholarship at the undergrad level and an assistantship at the graduate level. Could end up being pretty cheap for you.
