I say Carlsen by a landslide

no computers = not the real champs.
Don't see how Anand is going to beat Carlsen. I say Carlsen 7.5-4.5. I guess they won't play the last one, in that case though so 6.5-4.5
I'm a huge chess fan and I've asked myself before what would be more difficult... to win a World Champs "medal" in running or in chess. Running is more trainable than the ability to play truly world class chess. IMO, at the pointy end of chess those guys are more genetically gifted than the top marathoners.

Carlsen. Obviously.
I'll go with anand since he's 6-3 versus the kid. If they ever come up with performance enhancing drugs for the brain, you will never catch these guys because I'm pretty sure a grandmaster could easily outwit the testing.
Big chess fan and I'm more excited for this one than the past several. Since Kasparov I guess. Anand is a great match player and Carlsen is just plain brilliant.
I don't see anyone else currently playing as having the faintest glimmer of a hope against Carlsen, but Anand has done it before against equally strong players.
Cheering for the Great Brown Hope.
Carlsen will take it. I just wish they started the games at 5:30 pm local time instead of 3:30 pm, so that it would be easier to watch them live in North America.

A couple of months ago, I heard Yasser Seirawan say that he viewed the match as basically a toss-up. That surprised me, since Carlsen would seem to be a strong favorite, but I do think that many people are underestimating Anand's chances, particularly in a twelve-game match, where the player who scores the first win has a nice edge. (I'm from the days of 24-game world championship matches.)
Anand seems like a very decent guy, but I'm cheering for Carlsen. I think he's good for the game.
I believe that Anand has the edge in their previous matchups. That, combined with the fact that he's getting better odds, means that I'd put my money on him.
I'd lose, but I'd still do it.
The ratings make it look like a huge mismatch. But Anand's experience in match play gives him a chance. He has spent 3 or 4 months preparing specifically for Carlsen.
Carlsen has done much the same, but his opening prep might not be as comprehensive.
Still, edge to Carlsen. He could win the world championship and lose rating points doing it, like Fischer in Reykjavik.

Are you serious. Do people really sit and watch a chess match for hours?
Well not me, that's for sure.
I'm shocked that people actually know the names of chess players. Not making fun at all - just shocked. Is it on espn? Did you guys grow up playing or something?

The lady from this document:
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=2wzs33wvr9Eand her sisters and father don't agree. They say anyone can become a world class chess player if training properly. She and her sisters were a scientific experiment of his father: he placed an advertisement looking for a woman with whom he could have children and train them to excellence. He succeeded.
