She slipped and fell during the race at mile 20 and the paramedics wanted her to go to the hospital but she refused and finished. She did the Today show the next day and never woke up again after going to bed that night after complaining of being tired.
The woman always wanted to go out running and that's basically what she did:
Joy Johnson said:
"I always say I'm going to run until I drop. I'm going to die in my tennis shoes. I just don't know when I'm going to quit," she said.
Glad to see her daughter had a good attitude about her passing.
Her daughter said:
"At least she was running, the way she wanted to go," said Johnson's daughter.
Docs, is this a classic case of an aneurysm? Could the docs have even done anything if she had gone to the hospital?
