The people at Boston need to get over themselves. They act like it's 9-11. Seriously, as sad as it was no one died a there were only a few major injuries. As an EMT, I've seen worse car accidentsPeopld love to be victims. Boston showed it can be profitable too.

That was completely tasteless and inappropriate but the social media lynch mob that got her fired was even worse. Tasteless Halloween costumes don't merit death threats.
Must not have been a valued employee to be fired over that.

Three people died in the bombings. You are a pinhead.
Women? I see one woman in a costume.

Yep, that the reason you're an EMT.

Not so sure about the rest of your post but I strongly agree with this. It absolutely amazes me that so many people go out of their way to think of themselves as victims.
Personally the thought of anyone thinking of me as a victim disgusts me.
That what the government Gestapo wants you to think. They needed a reason to do warrant less searches p
I was at a Halloween party last year where I counted 3 Osama bin Ladens. 10 years ago somebody would have gotten fired over that. People need to lighten up.

People love to be shocked and outraged, that's why they watch the news.
If you went up to someone on the street and said, guess what, someone in another state dressed up as a bombing victim for halloween, they would shrug. It's far away and doesn't affect them.
But on news and the internet, they take the faraway, irrelevant things and put them in your face so you can pretend they happened to you and act offended. It is the Two Minutes Hate.
There are two reasons for this, I think. Obviously the government knows that a public that hates together stays together. But I also think most Americans are too rarely offended in their daily lives and need to see horrible things on TV and the internet. Otherwise they will get bored, depressed and die.
Well hey, at least she didn't dress like an Indian.

Agreed. I don't know why she didn't contact the FBI when the threats were made.

You forgot army medic. put it between janitor and emt.
It has nothing to do with the government -- some people just enjoy being offended. That said, where do you guys work that this would be appropriate for Halloween? If someone had worn this anywhere I've worked she'd be lucky to keep her job.

I think the costume is clever and well done. If she were my coworker, I would have laughed and given her a high-five. Halloween costumes are about fun and creativity. If you're offended, go suck on a lemon. One of my favorite costumes was a guy dressed as a priest with puppet of a young child attached to his groin by the rear end. This was, of course, right after the priest child rape scandal. Again, if you're offended, go suck on a lemon.
The vast majority of Halloween costumes could be considered tasteless in one way or another. They make fun of death, injury or some sort of severe misfortune.
If you don't want to be offended, avoid looking at Halloween costumes.
Tacky and tasteless, but getting fired? Not sure about that.
I would question judgement though.
