All I know is that it starts at 8:30 am today and has more Olympians than the marathon. It also has way more Elite Americans than the marathon. Hoping someone is providing some coverage?
Ouch, Solinsky will be disappointed in losing to Derrick by a lot and Jager by a second. Seemed to think his training would put him ahead of them...
I also thought Solinsky would be quite a bit further up. Jager & Derrick mentioned being only a few weeks back in to training. Solinsky has been training the whole time they haven't, hasn't he? I am rooting for him as much as anyone to "come back," but it doesn't seem like things are clicking for him. Disappointing.
Also, what's with Neely Spence G? Second to last? Is she a classic case of overtraining? (I say classic because it seems like Hansons athletes know it all too well)
"Holy S*** that's fast!" haha, good stuff.
Neely over a minute back?
Rojo, will you also have post-race interviews?

As a Saucony athlete?
i am surprised the high school girl mary cain did not run, she lives in new york so she would be the local fan favorite, and she was scheduled to run this race last year, before hurricane sandy caused it to be canceled.

He beat Jäger.
My bad. Either way, I was more surprised that he thought he would be easily ahead of them, yet Chris Derrick beat him by 15 seconds…so not even close. Who knows though, it is a road 5k and it is pretty meaningless. And none of them were that close to the front anyway.

Just coming back from a bout with Lyme disease. Not currently training, just out jogging for a few more weeks.
Where was German Fernandez and Scotty Bauhs?
What were their times? Winners' and otc's
Good run for Bumbalough, finished just behind Lomong and True and beat Derrick.
Where was WEBB?
14 minutes for a 5k? Is this course really hilly or something?

I wouldn't read too much into the results as a lot of people aren't in shape. Solinsky was hacked off about his run.
Many of these people are training for the 12k USA champs in 2 weeks.
I ran the race today - perfect weather conditions.
The course was moderately fast but not flat. The first mile was a slight uphill, second mile flatish, third mile in CP is mildly up for 500m then down for 300m then the last 400m of the marathon, which is pretty slow going.
I'd say it is around 20 seconds slower than a pancake flat 5k.
that's a ridiculous description of the course. it's VERY fast.
Is it possible that Ms. Pappas had some digestive problems during the race?
