The 800 has a reputation for requiring not just mental but physical toughness. I'm sure your average 800 guy is no wimp, but even that short a distance requires enough mileage that I think he'd do best to stick to his weight class. A 100 guy might be more dangerous, with plenty of fast twitch fibers. However what happens when the other guy knows how to defend himself? 2 minutes into the fight and he's fatigued. Maybe less.
I think if you were to test your fighting shape it would be best to run short intervals with short rests. Say a ladder of 100 200 300 200 100, all with 100 meter jogging rests in 30 seconds. The faster you can do that, the better you'll generally do in a fight, adjusting for skill and running talent.
Who here can run the fastest time for that workout?
