My son has been running 5 miles a day 6 days a week since may, getting in shape for xc. He just turned 16 a few day ago but today when he was out running he said about 3 miles in to his run he felt like some one knocked the wind out of him and couldn't breath. He said he slowed his pace and finished his run but he could never return to the pace he had run the first 3 miles. Last week they had a meet Monday (hilly course) meet Friday, rested Saturday and run 7 hilly miles on Sunday . Monday he said he felt spent during practice and Tuesday said he had a good run at practice but today is when he had problems getting his wind. Any one had similar issues. Help or thoughts would be greatly appreciated
