Yeah, neither can I, but it's because Japan is a reasonable society where they don't permanently stigmatize people who make mistakes, and don't automatically label anyone who has a minor indiscretion a monster. I have no problem with them welcoming the coach back.
He is not officially coaching them. It is like here in America where the coach gets fired and then coaches them privately.
