She is a sore loser!!!
Lets face it, the other women were more prepared than her and she refused to accept it. "Ohhh... I don't know what happened." wha wha wha
Can you say EPO, HGH, THG, etc .... I feel so dirty believing that it was reasonable for someone to take 4:30 min off of a world record. What fools we all are.
Hey congrats on all of your Olympic gold. Too bad you weren't there to give her tips on how to come through in the clutch, dickhead. Keep up the great work!!! I hope you feel good about yourself now!
yeah, 4:30 off of a record in an event women have been competing in seriously for only 20 years (less, if you ask me) is really insane, isn't it.
if it were 4:30 in a men's marathon i'd be far more suspicious. women haven't, until recently, run the marathon seriously; doesn't seem particularly anomalous to me for the record to drop to a range more in accordance with what one would expect vis a vis the men's record once women began to run the event seriously.
why did she even enter the race? i've been in hundreds of races where i didn't get top 3 but at least i finished.
yeah, i can't imagine why anyone would enter the olympics 10000m final. completely absurd for her to try.
she clearly has some sort of health issue; one drops out of a race when continuing would likely cause further damage to one's health. it's a smart move
It's an insult to the rest of the field. Did she actually think she'd medal? Knowing your competition is the first step!
and you have intimate knowledge of her fitness and state of mind before the race right? i imagine she wouldn't have entered if she didn't think that she could medal. it's rather easy to say in hindsight and on an anonymous message board that she had no chance to medal. i'd say that anyone who has run her times has the chance to medal when fit.
and i don't really see how this was an insult to the rest of the field. i think the rest of the field is thinking that they kicked her ass today and beating a world record holder, whether fit or not, is an accomplishment.
yes. women's marathoning is a young event (of course, it's only slightly younger than other events in women's distance running). thus, it has taken a rather long time for women to begin to approach this event with the seriousness (training-wise, nutrtition-wise) and numbers necessary to push the standards to an appropriate level.
and nice job in taking the group of people ("women") i mentioned and pointing out three specific women who took it seriously. women as a whole didn't approach the event seriously until fairly recently; hell, women as a whole didn't take distance running seriously until only a bit less recently. only in the mid to late 1990s did the women's WRs begin to approach and settle at the place where one would expect them to vis a vis men's records; the marathon didn't begin to get there until this century.
a sport/event takes time to grow.
It is a fact, those who can't accuse those who can. I saw it in the Army, those who were in the most elite units, they don't have to brag, they know they are good. It's the pretenders that make a lot of noise.
I'm sure that there is nothing but respect for Radcliffe by people like Tulu, Noguchi, Nderaba, Kastor and any other real top runner.
Losers however seem to raise their ego and profile by blurting out accusations without a shred of any kind of evidence.
Congrats for giving it a bash Radcliffe, you were very wise to stop when you did. You will however get those who know absolutely nothing about the sport who will make comments about you dropping out. Don't listen to them, for they are often non achievers who don't know much about the sport.
Next time will be better.
You are an idiot! How old are you 17? Women have been running just as serious 30 years ago as they do now. I could name twenty from 1980 who train as hard or harder than ANY women today. Get some some perspective. Have you ever heard of Mary Decker, Rosa Mota, Patricia Welch, Lisa Martin, even Vicky Huber for gods sake. That whole notion that "women train harder now," if total CRAP. It's called drugs. When Jungxia ran under 30 no women was even close to Kristensen record and frankly almost no women ever has been since. Radcliff and one or two Ethiopians have gotten close and that is it. The women's world record for 5k is barely 30min pace and you want me to believe that Radcliff's 10k time from two years ago or even this year is legit. Fuck Off! If she were clean she would have had no problem finishing in 31:00 or 31:00 today.
Isn't it obvious?
She has the ability to run a 10K faster than the vast majority of posters on this board.
Pure jealousy is feeding the fire.

Too bad but there aren't any drugs for coming through in the clutch.
That is one of the most asinine posts I've ever read.

sorry you may think you know everything, but you may actually know ape shit. However, keep sprouting your crap because if we give you enough rope you will hang yourself. You may have run sub 30 minutes more times than Radcliffe however you have never earned as much for your running as Radcliffe has. That is the major difference, women may have trained just as hard before, however they maybe didn't have the opportunity to recover as much as today. Science has moved on, maybe you haven't.
NYC-
You better be careful with that language, mommy and daddy will be home soon and won't like to read such blathering idiotic cursing from their #1.
yea you hold alot of credibility here sir. You've run "really fast". That's great. Good for you. The arguments behind people like Eddy and Regina are not even close to the same as people talking about Paula. You are rude and immature, and it is highly doubtful that you are the great athlete you presume yourself to be. that does not change that you still hold no right to make accusations against Paula. You do not know her, or her training or anything about her. If you truly were an elite level runner, then you would know that your times can vary greatly on a good day or a bad day, depending on how your body is holding up. If an athlete is sick their times can be awful. Dathan Ritzenhein tried running the 10,000 and dropped out, but people know he had a stress fracture problem. Nobody mentions anything about him only being able to run a time well of his 27:38 personal best. This is just an example. Truth is you dont know anything to make you credible. Sorry, but your swearing tirades are doing alot to make you a voice worth listening to.
