NP-I know what you mean, I think it can be a pretty good idea once you have a routine down. Hope you are enjoying your down week a bit.
Portland- I think 55-60 is still fine, heck I think that's more than some of the lower-mileage plans in "Hansons Marathon Method" and "Advanced Marathoning" (by Pfitzinger).
I am a pretty big fan of the Hansons book, where they basically state that for most runners who run a weekly mileage of around 60 they can get a lot more out of doing weekly tempo and marathon pace sessions with a long run of 16 miles than to do easy runs and go slog out a 20-miler.
