Im surprised this hasn't gotten more attention. Some of the nation's best teams are flying into Boston to race at Franklin Park. Anyone have meet information?

Start times listed at the BC xc web site.
Check out
for preview of race.
Good quality field for early season meet. Wisconsin, Providence and Oregon (with Eric Jenkins).
It's interesting that Boston College is the host of the meet, but the Boston College men aren't competing.
Why are the BC men not running in their own home meet (or is it just the women's home meet)? I would think this to be a great opportunity for the men to race "at home" on a course that doesn't beat you up too bad and against some great comp.
Cuse isnt going. the real show will be at the Stanford Cal duel meet this weekend. Chris Walden WTF

No Jenkins
BC has hosted an Inv. in Franklin Park over the years but someone else had to put this together. Why would the Ducks want to fly cross-country this early?
By the way since the Big East stupidly ended the VCP and Franklin Park venues for their championships interest in the events has gone down. There was no need to go other places.
yeah why would oregon race at franklin park?
These are the first three paragraphs from the link in the second post in the thread:
The University of Oregon will make their first ever visit to Boston’s Franklin Park on September 27th, ushering cross country back to the hallowed grounds after a year hiatus, for the Boston College invite. Former Massachusetts standout and Stanford graduate Andrew Powell enters his ninth year in the coaching ranks as the Associate Head Coach for the Oregon Cross Country team.
As a Massachusetts’s prep Andy ran to a state record of 4:02 in the mile at Oliver Ames, leading to a successful career at Stanford. While at Stanford, Andy was teammates with future wife (Franklin, MA native and six-time state track champion) Maurica Carlucci, who is currently the assistant coach for the Women Duck’s.
Having such a high quality meet this early in the season should prove to be a special allure to Boston cross country fans. Boston College assistant coach Julie Heyde was able to confirm that the women’s side will have four top twenty-five teams in Oregon (3rd), Providence (1st), Cornell (10th) and Boston College (25th). The Men’s side will showcase perennial power-houses Wisconsin (coached by Providence College grad and long-time Iona Coach Mick Byrne), Oregon and Providence. “The meet was Randy’s (Thomas) idea, who reached out to Oregon and Ray Treacy from Providence who then reached out to Mick Byrne” according to Heyde. “ There will be unlimited entry for runners, but we are trying to keep it to a maximum of thirteen to fourteen teams.”
I wish the coaches would schedule invitationals on Saturday. I know I am not the only X/C fan in Boston who can't take off from work on Friday.
Cuse is bringing their better guys to Griak I believe
Andy Powell still has the HS 5k course record there, I believe. 14:50ish. They have slightly altered the course since then for HSers. Great course!

Damn, was hoping to see Jenkins race.
I'd be surprised if any of the Oregon runners finished in the top 20 at this meet.
seconded, I would definitely be there if it were Saturday, can't make it Friday, really bummed.
