Hollander won the UC Santa Barbara Lagoon Open in a course-record 16:36.00 over the 5K trail to win by nearly a minute, along the way bettering by six seconds the previous all-time best mark set by her during her breakout 2012 freshman campaign.

whoa there Musty
it's one race...
wait til 10/4 when she races next, presumably.
she didn't race last weekend at a duel meet, idk why if her next race wouldn't have been for 3 weeks -
I know its one race!! But if Hollander's season progresses as it did last yr, seeing as though she has run this opener faster than her time last yr she will be a BEAST at NCAAs.

Abbey FTW
Hollander Runner Up
Its gonna be good -
I thought she was in college. That sounds like a HS time. Baxter, Cain and others would mop the floor with her.
-
Baxter could run 16:20 on this course.
-
Solid run. I thought she may be one who disappeared in college. She is making me see I misjuged her.
-
yeh ok cool

cain...maybe, but baxter no.
she ran 16:36 completely alone. who knows how motivated she was. same goes for baxter. but they wont be racing each other again for a couple years, so who cares.
also, i doubt that LH will progress as she did last year, in her first collegiate season.
she just needs to stay healthy and not run too much. i know for a fact that she goes faster than she probably should be for easy runs. when i see the team out running, i always see a big pack of the guys, then laura, then all of the other girls in another pack. i dont see why she needs to run 10-20 sec/mi faster than the rest of them on easy days. -

Jealous team mate ay?! -
LH is right to run her own pace.

As of yesterday, when she did not toe the line, it seems that she simply needs to run. -
She didn't need to run in an unimportant race yesterday.

Maybe not, but she needed to race an unimportant race to open her season at Santa Barbara, setting an unimportant course record in the process?
