On the front page of LR, there's a link saying that the Great North Run is the first event with over a million finishers, but I wonder if that's true. I couldn't find year by year statistics for the Bolder Boulder in my 2 minute google search, but I'm sure someone can, and I would think that race is already over a million based on how huge it's been the past 20 years and the fact that it started in 1979, before the Great North Run.
Can anyone with too much time figure this out for us? Are there other events over a million already?
