Due to the location of my work vs. where I coach high school I'm ending up with lots of 5/5 doubles. Normally I wouldn't be doubling for just ~70mpw but it makes sense in this instance. Is this strictly inferior to running single sessions since the mileage isn't that high and if so how much so.
Additionlly, I usually run with the kids at practice so they don't get lost since we're just starting the program, but since they've really never run before I'm running like 10min/mile sometimes with walking breaks. Does this have any training benefits?
If so, I'm actually running 5/3/5 triples with like 20 minute breaks on either end while I try to round up athletes and then have them do supplemental stuff.
