We didn't even know Wilson was making a run at the record but she didn't get it.
We believe the world junior record was 2:35.4 according to wikipedia http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/List_of_world_junior_records_in_athletics

Ajee Wilson comes up short in World Junior 1k Record Assault in Brussels

looks like she came up a lot more than "short" lol. total bomb.
-
Few seconds short of another NR but Good on ya Beetroot Face !
-
A poor performance at 1k either shows this as an anomaly or a lack of aerobic development.
-
Consistent with her 1500 times, though.
-
DFL! Time for her to shut it down for the season.
-
I'm not sure I'd summarize her attempt an "assault." It seemed more like a retreat. Nine seconds is huge for a 1K race. That was not a good end to her season.

Uceny looked really good in this race.
-
Uceny did look good, although she ran a very conservative race. This distance is just about right for her with her sub 2 800m speed. I wouldn't write her off yet in the 1500.

2'37 is nothing to brag about if you are 2-flat/4-flat currently
a line of fit resembling that is
55.6 / 2'00 ->
2'33.54
4.00.0
she ran a time ~ 4s slower than she's capable of -

I was thinking the same thing about the 1500. Kind of interesting that nobody here talked about Morgan (I've been waiting). Goes right along with Rojo not knowing who Ajee's agent is (Ray Flynn)--typical lack of knowledge you see here...and then they wonder why real elites and real coaches have nothing but disrespect for what goes on here.
Not sure what Morgan's problems have been this year, but it looks like she's getting it back together and will likely be a serious factor in the DL next year and the WC in 2015. -

Except she isn't in 2:00 4:00 shape - nor has run anywhere near that this year
