I'm asking this as a serious question. Although Salazar's guys definitely race, neither Mo nor Rupp seem to get in many fast races each outdoor season. Mo ran a fast 1500m this season but did he run any other 5000m apart from Oxy? Did he run one last year? Anyway, I would like to see them both get in fast non championship races. Judging by the other post worlds races this year, I'm not expecting today's 5000m to be very fast but often times it is.
He's racing Haile and Bekele in a Half on Sept 15th... I think that will be a pretty fast race.
I think KB would have been competitive in the 10k at Worlds. But, now he's been training specifically for this HM for a few months. And Haile is no slouch (still), he won the Vienna HM in 61:x in a race that went out in 14:05.
It'll be tough for Mo to win this won.
Rupp gets into fast races.
The fact that Farah is in the race usually stops the race from being fast. He either slows the pace down himself or everyone else does because they're scared of him.

This^^ after what I witnessed at Worlds, I agree with this.
You think that those two can get anywhere near Mo in a half marathon? Why would you think that?
I doubt that Bekele will even show up, he has so little road racing history. Unless he has suddenly developed that ability in secret, he will not be there at the start.
It doesn't seem to matter what the pace is, he can handle it. He isn't in 12.37/26.17 shape and maybe he never will be, but it is true what you say that everyone is scared of him.
He runs a strategy that wins him gold medals. Why should he try anything different? It's up to the other guys to find a way to beat him.
IF HE POPPED A VERY FAST TIME, POSSIBLY EVEN WORLD RECORD THEN IT WOULD BE OBVIOUS HE IS A DOPER. HE DOESN'T WANT TO RISK BEING EXPOSED FOR THE FRAUDD HE REALLY IS. SO HE JUST DOES JOG FESTS. HE DIDN'T INTEND ON RUNNING 328 IN THAT 1500, BUT HE PARTIALLY BLEW HIS COVER WITH THAT AND HE KNOWS IT. NOW HE CAN'T AFFORD TO BLOW HIS COVER ONCE AGAIN OR ELSE HIS CHEATING EMPIRE MAY ALL COME CRUMBLING DOWN.

Mo took a huge payday to drop out of the London marathon. He rarely runs outside the UK or Prefontaine/local/Nike stuff. He's running this half marathon instead of Zurich or Brussels. It's all because he can make more money doing that.
I don't fault him for that. He has to cash in while he's hot. What I hated was when UK meet organizers set up pansy races for him to win. At least this year the Birmingham 5k was a real race. And they got KB and Haile for this half marathon. So I don't mind.

Just like it was for KB and Haile? No. They ran plenty of fast races (and even some world records). They managed to win medals AND run fast.
I don't think Mo ran any fast races this year because his endurance wasn't as good. Galen Rupp's year show's this. Too much speed, not enough endurance. Make everything sit and kick so the weakness doesn't show.

As for Rupp, I think he's just depressed. I don't know why, but he is not enjoying 2013, he goes through phases of self belief and self doubt and need some help with his confidence.
