Oh man...that'd be tough. Maybe Marsh/Maree/Nenow? I don't know that they ever raced in a 5000m together.

Steeplechase - Sid Sink
10000m - Greg Fredricks
Thought I might look at the American record progression lists for all 3 events and come up with a likely answer. You would think these lists would be on the usatf.org or trackandfieldnews.com websites.
The only (out of date) progression list I could find is
http://www.arrs.net/RecProg/RP_USAT.htm
Would be nice if LetsRun published American record progression lists with a link to video (if it exists).
Don't forget the American 1500 record holder as well.
Guys and Gals,
We are working on our Brussels 5000 preview as we speak. The American record holders in the steeple, 5000, and 10,000 are clashign (Jager, Lagat and Rupp). When is the last time that happened?
Anyone know?
Editor's addition: It's been pointed out that Lagat has the 1500 record as well so the title of this thread has been changed
I'm thinking Shorter (10k), Liquori (5K/1500m) and maybe Marsh (st)in Europe, late 70's?
Don't know, but the WORLD record 5,000, 10,000, and steeplechase used to race a LOT. And he usually won.
I’m a D2 female runner. Our coach explicitly told us not to visit LetsRun forums.
Great interview with Steve Cram - says Jakob has no chance of WRs this year
