Racism: A problem in running?

Trayvon's friend made "cracker" okay.

The line about sunburn is pretty funny.

None of it racist:the belief that superiority is based on race (usually signified by skin color).

Of course some joke about being black would have caused Al Sharpton to show up

Honestly you sound like a massive douche. You thought about reporting someone because they called one of your runners a "cracker" and made a sunburn joke? Are you serious?

Tell your runner to take that wisecrack, and turn it inward into motivation. Give him a training plan to beat this team. One year from now-have him run two strides behind one of the runners from the offending team for the whole race. Ideally it should be their #1 runner, but that's not that important. Going down the stretch, have your guy drop the hammer. In the finish chute, he should say "nice race" to the loser-and offer to shake his hand.That's how you handle trash talk-by kicking a$$, not by tattling.

If you don't like it, you should have complained 20 years ago when the framework was being laid.

Back when I was a kid, my neighbors had this incredible Saint Bernard with an incredibly fluffy coat. They also owned a couple sports cars and a sailing boat. The boat was nice, but always needed repairs. They would send this fella named Rick Dudley over almost once a month to patch up all the marks they made in the hull of the boat from all the rocks they would bash into when coming into shore. I never understood why they wouldn't just moor the boat off shore and use a dingy, but boy, did they sure have a lot of money!

Weird. I can't recall ever being hassled by a "black" person while running. I get hassled by "white" people all the time though. Usually is some "redneck" in a large, mud-covered truck yelling something stupid at me. Usually its unintelligible, but there have been a few clever things. The best one was "Pu$$y!" And a close second was "Put some clothes one!"

I always brandish my most fear-inducing hand gesture--the Bird. And if they are within earshot I follow that with "Fvck You!" So far that has nipped the offensive behavior in the proverbial bud.

Often, girls/women honk and stare and I repay their kindness with a friendly wave and a smile. I live/run in an affluent area so there are many college-age girls and trophy wives driving around trying to find some way to excite themselves out of the boredom that is their lives. I'm happy to help in any way I can.
