How is this race going to pan out?

Defar. Then she will pull a sweaty picture of the Virgin Mary out of her bra, weep all over it and stick it on her face.
Jenny Simpson. DeCERA, and Didoper, will stare at eachother for 8 laps, then Jenny S will unleash!!
Dibaba
I can't be arsed to give a shit. The CERA sisters are the two most boring runners to watch.
dibaba is gonna be deFAR ahead
and by that i mean like 0.2 seconds ahead, in 14:19
Love to watch Dibaba run ignore the crap i wrote earlier.

what a spectacular turnaround!
I'm going to go for Dibaba simply coz I fancy her younger sister and she (back to Tirunesh now) has such a beautiful stride. But Defar is very strong too and the way she won the Worlds was most convincing. Fingers crossed it will happen now, still not sure one of them won't pull out :|

Video at 19:09.

No rounds - so going with Dibaba.
I bet on Dibaba, probably going to be a pretty good pace 14:40ish for the final time.
I say Defar. More lethal kick this year, I think.
simpson may or may not be chasing the US record of 14'44however, agent says she really hasn't trained for a 5k but just running it off her fitnesshttp://www.letsrun.com/news/2013/08/mark-wetmore-on-jenny-simpson-zurich-5000m-its-not-a-record-attempt-by-any-means-just-get-in-the-race-and-respond-to-whats-presented-to-her/
Wetmore said they’ve done “very little 5000 training, maybe by my recollection two workouts this whole season.”
Just Because It’s Not An American Record Attempt That Doesn’t Mean The American Record Wont’ Fall
When asked how fast Simpson could run, Wetmore responded, “She’s very fit and I think she’s in the position to run some very fast times but we’re not pursuing records this season.”
trying to predict a 5k for her is not easy as her endurance probably doesn't "last" perfectly to 5k of 1500/800 training
her clockings here :
http://www.diamondleague.com/athletes/14305392.htm#5000mshe's likely in 2-flat shape & that 4-flat was definitely worth much better as it had a real slow lap of something like 68s for 2nd one & by devastating power off her finish
i think she couda gone 3'59 or perhaps even just about 3'58 that day off perfect even pace
2'00.0 with
4'00.0 -> 8'33.1 , 14'55.8
3'59.0 -> 8'28.9 , 14'46.1
3'58.0 -> 8'24.7 , 14'36.4
the 5k record is going to be a very hard task for
even if she was in "only" 3'59.0 shape & her endurance "lasted" perfectly to 5k off 1500/800 training & she ran perfect even pace for 12.5 laps, it woud still only give her 14'46
she woud need to be in near 3'58.0 shape to have enough leeway to crack 14'44
i think 14'50 woud be about her limit considering above but i woud like to be pleasantly surprised
no doubt Defar
Agree - Byfar.
Most of the fantasy league top 9 are going with Defar. They're wrong. It's been slow races all year, it's their last chance for a fast race, and Dibaba is stronger.
BS. Not only is Dibaba better but she will also be well rested while Defar ran WC 5k final and then DL in Stockholm.

I'm no expert on this stuff, that's for sure, but this doesn't make sense to me. Can you explain how a 2.0s difference @1500m translates into 19.4s difference @5000m...seems like it should be more like 7s, maybe 8s. The IAAF scoring tables would say the same. What am I missing?
I don't know who will win, but I'm rooting for Defar...even if she could improve on her dance moves.

Haile G is a groover! He's got some moves
$40,000 bucks at stake. It will be good. I wonder if there will be even a pretense of good sportsmanship between the two.
