13:25 as an 18 year old and never runs faster since, how is that possible?

Not unusual.
Interesting, so Cain could follow suit.
Eliud Kipchoge had his best 5000 performance at 18, thought he did later run a PR (by 6 seconds).
Dave Smith killed his motivation to run.
Has German Fernandez run in a fast 5000m race since 2009?
Should go back to HS coach.
Should go back to HS.
Didn't his high school coach Bruce Edwards retire?
I think he can still do well. I wouldn't be too down on him. I just hope he does not overtrain.

If you are going to post a link to a video please try to make sure that it is not the worst quality video of all time.
Thanks.

Yes

Actually, very unusual. Sure it happens, but it is very unusual for someone to run their fastest time as an 18 year old, unless they retire from the sport or have a career ending injury.

yes, of course you are right.
And to the other poster, kipchoge was very likely not 18, I think we all know that. And furthermore, as you state, he did later run significantly faster than he did at "18," and has gone to many, many, other great performances, including recent 1:00 1/2 marathon and 2:05:30 marathon. So, those are not 5k races, but if German goes to run anything like that someday, no one will be worrying about his 5k pr.

Nope. The list of HS phenoms who never improved is amazing long.
he should have gone to an Ivy League school, so since running hasnt worked out he would still be making at LEAST 250k a year (or even more) and would have a degree from a VERY prestigious university. not to mention the coaching is top-notch at Ivy League schools
Lol, do you think every Ivy grad is making 250k a year? I know recent Ivy grads that are unemployed.

I am certain of it! Got it straight from the same source that showed that the average LRC poster made $250k, had a 5000m PR of a bit under 14:00, and had an model wife.

And they do all that before they wake up.
Never = 4 years?
Great, now I have MORE work to do...
