McBride came in to the NCAA this year as the fastest high school runner ever (46.25/1:46.07). However, during the NCAA outdoor season he "only" ran 47.14/1:50.17...
He has now salvaged his outdoor season by running 1:46.38 at the Canada Games a couple of weeks ago and 45.89 today at Pan Am junior in Columbia...
Why was he so "slow" in April, May and June?

During the NCAA season I was thinking the same... And then I just wrote him off... Thinking to myself that he made a big mistake (I was thinking that before he got there, so it was just a validation)However now he seems to be salvaging his season... So...

Maybe he just took a season to adjust to his new surroundings. Happens a lot.

I heard that he was anemic during the NCAA season. Perhaps and he wasn't able to balance out his iron levels until June-July.
1:45.35 (for 4th) today at Mt SAC...after having won indoor NCAA. He's fine this year... :)
Btw: Duane Solomon (FTW) at 1:43.88 (in April) is more than fine..
5th "all time" Canadian performer...
I guess that this will qualify him for the Commonwelth Games...
