What had she done to indicate that she was a medal threat? Before this year, was there any reason to believe she would have this level of success? I think the answer is no, but it's a serious question. I at least had no idea who she was.

Of course, there are many other possibilities -including Martinez misinterpreting, mis-remembering, over-reacting and/or overstating events of the past.

Not that that is necessarily such a terrible thing. Seems like many champion athletes carry this permanent chip on their shoulders from when someone disrespected them (doesn't matter if it was real or imaginary).

You need to get your head out of your azz and pay attention to championship/elite t&f. Martinez has been an up and cummer for the last couple of years.

Who were the groups who didn't take her on? Mammoth and Bay Area Track Club?

Definitely Mammoth has to be one given that Joe was frustrated by them not taking her on. Not sure who the other one was.

Yep, Mammoth rejected her and also one other, I think maybe Schumacher.

Anyone that saw her perfect mechanics and speed could guess what would happen when she adopted mileage and consistency.

Kinda like that Somali guy who a few years ago was some middle of the pack guy and now can't be beaten.

You hear that from freakin 1st round draft picks. A guy is selected 10th instead of 1st and he takes it a slight of his ability.

Forget that he is one of the top athletes in the freakin world and minimum top 10 at his profession.

But really, sponsoring athletes is like playing poker. Sometimes you lose a hand big time, but it doesn't mean you played it wrong.

brenda could still burn off 5 more pounds of adipose, and become a monster 1500m racer.

You know I don't even wanna hear about her being hurt over being dissed by a team, I let her know back then she was good enough for the team I personally was financing via email. Not a single reply, just to say no thanks...nothing. I mean sure, my team only consisted of me, a black light, air mattress, shower curtain and sum baby oil but have some professionalism Brenda!

Is it possible these other groups she approached already had 800/1500 runners and could not take her on? Hard to believe someone would say, "You're not good enough, you're not a championship runner."

Sounds like she's doing a screw you right now. Not attractive.
