Please. Where were you when Wilson won gold last year?
i'm not gonna compare her to cain, yet. 800 is a different race than 1500
but what an awesome race fior her. i'm bummed that she let up at the line though, could have leaned to nip that russian and possinly gone for 1:58 flat
huge PRs for USA. props to BMart for finding space, but she was like symmonds of 2012 in this race. she needs to learn from him and go out closer to the front. too many people to pass in the last 150.
but when i saw Ajee go way wide at 150 I thought she had a medal in her, as brenda looked stuck.
freaking montano again going out in 56 flat. going out in 57 is a bold strategy, going out in 56 is idiotic.
bizarre title for a thread since Ajee is older and has been at a world class level for longer.
Anyway, they've both had great years - here's hoping they continue to run well for many more years.
She is, to be fair, 2 years older than Cain, so it's sort of difficult to draw a lot of conclusions right now.
great run and effort for a big PR.
can't wait to she what she is capable of in the future.

Wilson knows how to race. Cain does not -- yet. Cain's learning curve in racing would improve if she ran more 800s. There is no taking a nap midway at this distance like Cain is wont to do in the 1500.
Salazar has said the 800 is not in Cain's comfort zone. True. A little discomfort should be put on Cain's dinner plate. Cain must bracket that 1500 she prefers. Salazar is not yet getting her to do it.
How could the 800 not be in Cain's comfort zone? She is from Bronxville where all girls are designated to be 800m runners until they prove beyond a shadow of a doubt otherwise. She has been running 800's since the 7th grade. I would think she has some "comfort" with the event.
Maybe she just doesn't have the 800m experience on an elite and world stage.

Duh.
First of all, congrats to Wilson on a final WCs. Looking forward to another fine mid-d lady for the USA. But to be fair to Cain, Wilson is two years older (almost exactly) and two years ago Wilson's 800 PR was 2:02.64. So let's not disparage Cain too much here.
