if you take this to the police it's likely they will impound the dogs. Don't do that..

You were in a danger zone, and should have gotten your dogs out of there and away from that boy immediately.

Why were you still there?

Again, why were you still there? Why were your dogs jumping at him? Since your dogs were on leashes, why didn't you get them out of there? Your dogs were attacking the guy, regardless of being on leashes. You should have had control of them and you didn't.

There was nothing wrong with him kicking your dogs, because your dogs were attacking him!

You attacked the people, right in front of the door to their home, and you're livid? You have serious problems.

Keep your freaking dogs awaya from people, especially away from kids and from where people are living! Don't let your dogs attack, jump on, and bark at people! Learn some self restraint, and teach the same thing to your dogs.

Shut up about your dog! Dogs are annoying! They have minds (not much) of their own. Runners or casual walkers must guess about their intentions. They are carnivores....right? They might be playing...but I don't care about that! . Why do dog owners assume that the dogs are not a nususance? Smoking in pubic places was excepted in the past ... But not so much now.

Real runners don't own one dog, let alone two. You are a disgrace!

If you can't control your dog, you should expect consequences. If I feel threatened by a dog, I'm not above throwing it into traffic.

Stand Your Ground

I think you failed to recognize the potentially serious consequences of your aggressive dogs in close proximity of the young child and your responsibility as a dog owner. Your lackadaisical attitude in responses to being notified of the matter led to the escalation. Good for gramps for getting you to think about it, but clearly you have a ways to go before you stop being a menace to society. This reminds me of what I read about Justin Bieber -- driving 80mph through residential neighborhoods and then responding that anyone who calls him out is an a-hole.

It's your responsibility to keep your dogs off of people. Who do you think you are that you can just let your dogs hop on anyone they please? If you did that to someone yourself, they'd sock you. Take responsibility. Don't be a crazy dog owner who thinks their dogs are people. Your dogs got kicked because of you. They don't know any better, because of you.

You have to understand there are people who have been bitten and attacked by dogs of all sizes (like me) who not only distrust dogs, but are prepared to kick if the dog hops on them or barks at them or their children. Any dog can bite at anytime, don't fool yourself. Be responsible.

When the dog bites, the owner often says "he's never bitten anyone before, it must have been the way you look." Or some form of throwing the responsibility on the bitten. When the bitten was minding his own business.

Take responsibility. If you keep letting your dogs on people, I hope they kicked more, until you get smart and learn to control your dogs barking and actions. Watch The Dog Whisperer. If he can do it. You can do it. Geez.

I was able to speak to someone with my local Animal Care Service office. They're sending someone to speak to them tomorrow in person.

For one I do agree that people generally have the right to harm a dog if they are attacked and that people should train their dogs...BUT my dog was on a leash and he quite literally had 0% chance of reaching the old guy and in fact anyone and not to mention that they're small dogs. That is what caused me to tell him off.

In the future just bring your dogs home first then go back and speak to the Grandpa. His reaction was probably a bit extreme but law enforcement or Animal control will probaly give you some better tips.

You still fail to understand that no should feel threatened by your dogs, much less young kids, even if you consider your dogs to be harmless. So many times have I heard dog owners describe their pet that way when in fact the animal was capable of harming people. You knew your dogs acted that way and that it upsets people, yet your attitude suggests you feel no responsibly for that. As soon as your dogs started acting aggressively near the child (or anyone), you should have picked them up, apologized, and quickly departed the area. Now you are trying to use animal service to defend your poor conduct and anyone who disagrees with you is a "dick."

No I quite do understand. You should read it over. But I'll restate what I typed and give you the thorough version, since you feel so entitled to give me you thoughts on my own character.

1.

I did agree with the guy, and told him so. And just so YOU know I do agree that no one should feel threatened for any reason when it comes to dogs or any other animal for that matter.

2.

For that reason I kept walking past the kid, so the dogs wouldn't scare him or cause him to runaway.

3.

I had the dogs on a short leash as I walked by and around the kid and no harm was done to the child.

4.

I again am mad regardless because the old man didn't even flinch when he decided to kick my dog.

I don't even know why I am taking my time to respond to you Mr. Rogers. Go away back to PBS and stay off letsrun gramps.

I don't feel entitled or righteous for my small insignificant situation. But when a person themselves feels entitled or righteous to kick my dog in order to shut him up. I will let him have my full uncensored opinion about his/her own character.
