What's everone's opinion on this? My high school coach is largely against it. He believes it leads to injury. We run mostly base of 50-55 mpw. We might do a hill workout one day a week or if not that then we do a mile's worth of strides on our football field after our run. If it's just strides then we do that a max of two times per week. Another coach in our area has had his guys doing structured speed workouts on the track since late June. Both coaches usually have good teams that do well at state but have no real standout individual athletes. So, in your opinion, which philosophy makes more sense?
