Seriously, give it a rest. You are critical no matter what. Rupp was 4th and in contention until the last 200m. There are all kinds of talented guys in these races. You're using 5k races, including one that hasn't even happened, to show that a 10k medal was a fluke? The last two 10ks he's been 2nd and 4th. How does that prove London was a fluke? Your logic is poor at best. You were the one that said Rupp wasn't even deserving to be listed as a potential threat for the bronze. You were wrong about that and your post here is just as wrong.

Rupp's best medal chances actually lie EXACLY in fluking out in a smartly-run hot marathon like Baldini and De Lima (and Meb) 2004.

He got 4th today. FOURTH. One spot away from a medal. So he didn't have the extra kick, whatever. But he was in it with 600 to go, and that shows that London was not a fluke and that he should keep on going. He's clearly the best American right now, so stop this nonsense.

Alright you have no argument here. You could call that silver a fluke if Rupp wasn't even around with 400 to go, but he was there the entire time and came in 4th. 4th in the world championships is great, and actually proves that silver wasn't a fluke. You have to stop with this, it's really pathetic.
