I know its early but I expect some great battles between these two again. lalang is on a different level this year, but we also thought last year he was untouchable. who do you got?

I don't think anyone in the NCAA can take down a 13:00 guy
his loss at nationals was a fluke. he'll win by 30 seconds this year
I wonder how late into the summer Lalang will race. You figure he'll have to take time off at some point, then build back up for XC. He's missing out on a lot of base work right now. I also don't see him racing XC until late in the season. That could make him rusty/not used to being pushed come NCAAs.
But with all that being said, 13-flat is no joke. I don't think anybody is going to touch him.
Who is paying Lalang's traveling expenses this summer? Europe is not cheap. As a big time D1 coach, I know.

Lalang is done racing now, and will start building up for xc. He said his main focus is outdoor track, so I don't think he's worrying about rushing into a base phase. I still think he'll be ready though since he doesn't have debut in xc until mid-October, which is plenty of time to rest and build back up.
I can't see him gaining much racing in college. I guess he wants to finish a degree and will use the season to build for the summer.
Has Kithuka raced at all this outdoor season?
Eric Jenkins FTW

HA!
I'm all for Jenkins winning, but there's no chance.

Kennedy ran 3:45 and 1:54 at a Texas Tech meet REALLY early this outdoors but he redshirted. Was entered in Prefontaine 10K but had a slight pain in his leg so, to be safe he pulled out. He is training and getting ready for XC now.
Kennedy will win XC again. Remember last year Lalang was a 13:08 indoor 5k guy, so not much has changed now that he has run 13:00. Kithuka will win. 5k would be a great battle because Kennedy is capable of 13:0x also, but XC will be no contest.
