I'm a 42 year old male who started running in April of 2012 with the goal of breaking 3 hours for the marathon in October. I failed and ended up running 3:08 -- Good through 20 and then you know the story.
Over the past 6 months I've averaged approximately 60 miles per week and completed a 50 mile trail ultra in June. Several weeks ago I ran a 5k @ 5:48 per mile.
I've decided to take my training to the next level (because I have the time) and introduced doubles. Last week I ran doubles every day and hit 95 miles for the week. My plan is to complete 28 days in a row of doubles and then taper for a week and then run another 5k.
I have read many threads and articles debating the pros and cons of singles vs. doubles. I'll repost in a month and let you all know the results.
