Glad to see he's racing. The 5000m is a tough event at the international level. All of the guys below I could imagine beating Rupp on a good day:
Choge
Koech
Lagat
Lalang
Longosiwa
Rop
Soi
However, I expect probably a third of the runners to have an off day, which rarely seems to strike Rupp, so I'll say he'll be 5th or 6th. I'll give him the benefit of the doubt and go with 5th.
Predict Rupp's place in the Monaco 5000m

Got me with this one. Almost spit my drink out on my laptop. Well done. -
first in 12:51.
Laghat and Longosiwa in 12:52/12:53.
T. Bekele in 12:58 -
4th or 5th seems alright IF it's under 12:55. over 13:00 and Rupp moves up to 2nd/3rd getting beat by lagat and one other possibly
-
I'll go with 6th.
-
koech, soi,lagat, rupp 12-56
-
4th, 13:06.
-
Doesn't matter, loses to Ben True.
-
I think he will place 2nd. He'll be able to work off a slow or a fast pace.
-
2nd. Alan Webb will sign up late to the race, show up, and bust out a sub 12:50. Rupp outkicks the rest of the field and runs 12:58.
-
Will True be recovered from his Belgium race in 13:11? 13:11 is no joke. If True recovers in time I think he can get under 13:05.

Runs into a bush with about 400m to go and DNFs.

Solinsky's entered too? I didn't see his name on the start list. -
Rupp tries to avenge his butt-spanking loss to Lagat in the 5k at the U.S. Championships.
Rupp runs his own race, finishing in 14:53. He flies home with a 1:55 final 800m. The problem is that everyone else runs a legit race. The winner comes home in 12:51, and the second to last place runner times in with a 12:57. Rupp gets lapped twice by the entire field.
When asked about the race, Rupp says "I ran my style of race. I don't care about the times run by those other guys. I ran faster than Lagat did at the U.S. Championships. That is worth Gold in my little, training-log, book." -
I'd like to see Rupp in the top three with a sub 13 time.

Meh, pretty close.
