Talk about depth this year- 13 Americans sub 3.40 in one meet in Belgium, 4 A-standards, 7 3.35.54 or faster. Really surprised by the 4 who did it though!

Wow, well done boys. And on another note, Maazouzi Zakaria, the mysterious Moroccan who has improved tremendously this year, wins by almost a second...

USA bringing back the metric Mile too!
Have 7 Americans in one race ever run 3.35.5 or better? That may be some kind of record- and even without Centro, Manzano, Lagat, Lomong...
By the way, would have liked to see Ryan Hill in that faster heat, not sure why he wasn't?
Webb 346 in 2nd section. 2nd from dfl.
WEBB IS BACK, BABY!!!
Too bad none of it matters...
impressive. shame none of them are on the team
Craig Miller and Jack Bolas both ran PR's as well running 3:35.3 and 3:35.5 very impressive! If they break 3:35 it's possible to have 10 Americans with the A by worlds!!
It matters if you care about future of American middle distance running. Lagat will not be around forever and Manzano will have a few more good years. However, it is great to see some young Americans run so well.
Great job guys! It was not that long ago that we struggled to get three guys under standard.
PR for McNamara by about a second and a half.
the pressure is on for the rest of the Americans racing in Paris tonight. Look out for some fast times!!
Wow!!! Awesome performances across the board!!! Some "B" race after all! Extremely proud to see so many second tier pro type guys put up big first tier type performances, easily one of the deepest races for USA 1500 running ever. I believe that is a PR for each of the top 7 Americans in that race. Really good stuff that bodes well for the future of USA mid distance! Congrats to all!
Maazouzi Zakaria MAR 3:32.89

Had to be a mis-measured 1500. Leer is not that fast.
The A standard only matters to those who need to achieve it which has already been cemented.
To anyone else it means nothing.

His PB and SB are pretty shitty compared to his true form so he probably just didn't get in.
The second heat also looked more tactical so he won in a slower time even though there were some good guys in it.

I can't remember ever running a PR and thinking 'that means nothing'. All these guys running great times most definitely means something, even though it does not mean they're going to WC (this year).
The A standard becomes a measuring stick for a world class performance.
You hit that mark, and you're world class.
Webb is one awesome miler what can you do when you run close the AR (anyone get the tenths) and finish DFL.

It was the right place for Hill; he got some experience racing, and some experience winning.
