What is his contract status? I wonder what would happen if he signed with Nike and joined either group. Marathon training with Rtiz, Levins, Puskedra and Farah might help.
Just a thought.

Ryan Hall says the weirdest $hit. I was watching this http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=I-v41j8HzU4 video and at 2:12 Ryan Hall says that we'll only see perfect running form in heaven.
There is a greater chance "A Duck" will renounce Oregonianism than Hall would join either NOP or TS; and I'm fairly certain neither group would want him--a bit too fruit-loopy.

Hey, hey, hey now.
lets wait to judge until we see hall in this 10k
Slim or none, and slim has left town. But to get to what Hall said, he indicated he knew his own body best, the suggestion being that when he used "faith based training" (a concept I've never fully grasped) he didn't get hurt, but prior to going to Canova he was always hurt, which alas continued under Canova apparently.

I don't think AlSal would want Ryan Hall, but I do think there's a bit of a chance that they would actually work well together. At the very least faith is extremely important to both of them.
I do think Ryan Hall needs to (pardon me) get over himself and accept that he is not special and needs a (human) coach just like every other world-class runner needs a coach.

There are some truths about running that many elite runners don't want to accept/face.
1. Even as an elite, you lose most of your races.
2. Running is a very adept way to get injured.
3. Your peak career is likely to be short.
4. Some of you will accrue over use injuries that will come back to haunt you as you get older.
I don't see anything in Hall's history to tell me that he is smarter than someone else about preventing injury.
You know, everybody makes jokes/flips crp/lies-libels-defames Salazar for being such a control freak about injury prevention.
The most important thing in what he is doing -- is that he is expressing he learned from all his been there-done that mistakes.
He understands how precious one's running health is, and how narrow a life window most runners actually have.
I'll be surprised if Hall ever does anything substantial again. At this point he is more likely stretching out the paydays...

I always find it super amusing when people try to figure out the NOP "secret." PEDs? TUEs? It's right in front of all of you: AlSal is the only coach out there who has totally nailed the balance between training hard and training smart. He's the only one who gets it.

This came up on another thread, but it's likely to get lost and surely deserves its own. Although Canova will serve as one of Hall's advisers, Hall says he's back to "faith based coaching". This is not going to end well.

Well, if Hall wasn't up to Terrence Mahon's training any more, it didn't figure he'd last too long with Renato.
But perhaps it should be pointed out that while God was his coache, Ryan was also listening to "Moses" (Dr. Jack Daniels). Dr. Daniels was even the Halls' landlord when they stayed in Flagstaff, so it's not like Ryan was getting no knowledgeable advice.

But does he listen?
Not much to say about Hall , lost confused and out of time.
With his ASIC's deal he will never be under the Nike umbrella which puts him in no mans land. Zero support system.
World class coaches like Canova don't grow on trees. The inability to take direction is just arrogant.
his coined term of faith-based is just a loose slogan for self-coached
and yes he is fruit loopy
and running needs someone like him in the scene to remind everyone that people are individuals

ASIC's? Wtf?
Hall, had a good go, but I don't think we will see him running 2:06 again.
He was in sub 13:20 then and has abandoned running the shorter and faster stuff in recent years.
If he gets back to running track races for a segment of the year and goes back to altitude, and most importantly gets a good coach/advisor he may be able to get back in the 2:07 range.
Also, he has had a lot of injuries in recent years and that could mean he has some muscle imbalances.
Salazar could probably fix his problems but he is not a Nike athlete.

Heh?? There are LOTS of world-class runners who are self-coached. So many that it's not even that notable. Not many in the US but worldwide there are.
there have been many self-coached, successful marathoners
best of luck to hall
Of course, he Hall doesn't think it's a matter of luck.
