I've heard they don't and it's surprising that a big school like that doesn't. Anyone know what they use instead?

I think they rent Sidwell Friends oval.
They have their own track; however, it's old and to the best of my knowledge hasn't been resurfaced in a good 25yrs.
They do not have their own outdoor track. DC has a 4-lane, 320 meter track that's very close to the Georgetown campus. It's not bad, actually, because the straights are very short, so despite the short length, the curves aren't too tight. It's not in great condition, but it's also nothing to complain about.
Do they still have that track on the roof of the gymnasium?
They have a track over by the hospital that is 6 or so years old. If you plug "Georgetown University" into Google Maps and then go to the Satellite view, you will see their track.
I don't see it on Google Maps. I also did not see it when I was there last summer. Please tell us where this is "over by the hospital"

That's not their track. That's the short track I was talking about.
This will show it to you in google maps: "1700 38th street nw, dc, 20007"
Use the distance measurement tool. You'll see it's 320 meters.

That's probably because you're an idiot.

In fact, it is less than 1 block from the front door of the hospital. Probably not a track in the country that is closer to a hospital.
As mentioned above, it is 320m. The land is owned by the DC Public School System. It is the old Western HS athletic fields, now used by the Count Basie School for the Arts.
Georgetown paid for the installation of the track a few years ago. They do the upkeep. Most of it was paid for by the track alumni association.
I loved that track on top of the fieldhouse! The last time I was up there, about 12 years ago, it was all turf.
Does anyone know why they got rid of that track? Sometimes in the winter, water would pool over by the 200 and it would get icy. Spikes needed!
