Geez big field.
Great field with some of the best Europeans. Should be interesting with no Kiprop or Kiplagat. Souleiman will win, Centro second. 3:33.
When did Gregson run a SB 3:35?

This season
Centro has a shot at a win here.
I expect the US 1500 guys will run a small 800 shortly before this to get a race in and a shake out to adjust to the time zone.
I expect they will all get the standard here and settle the team for Moscow.

Do you understand how a hyperlink works? Just click on the name Ryan Gregson and it takes you to a page that shows you his seasonal best times.
He ran it in Sydney on March 9th.

Who still uses the word "hyperlink"? You're old, Rojo.
Sheesh, Rojo! Who peed in your crumpet this morning?
Oh, we are in a bad mood today, aren't we?
It's really more of a hypolink.
Also--
Yes, Centro has a good shot to place well here, unless he's playing it safe to just lock down the A Standard. Souleiman will go out hard is my guess, with Gebremedhin keeping pace. Centro doesn't need to be that aggressive for the first 800m, so long as he comes through 800 around 1:55. I know Souleiman has been looking pretty strong all year, and his recent 800 PR impressive; but I'm still not convinced he can kick with the best of them. If the field isn't too crowded with 400 to go, Centro could have a chance to take it.
I still think it's a mistake for Centro to run in any 1500 prior to Moscow unless and until Manzano and/or Lomong achieve the A standard on their own. Run an 800, run a 1000, run a true mile, that's what Centro should be doing.
Have we all forgotten the brilliant gamesmanship of Coe vs Ovett vs Cram? Those three didn't become the best in the world by playing the PC card.
probably Lawi will keep it honest and push the pace after the rabbit drops out like at ostrava, though i doubt it will turn tactical in such a short race with a rabbit, but I've seen it before

His goal now is to prepare as best as he can for Moscow, not to play head games with his American teammates.
He's only run 1 race this year with top international competition. This is a chance to run fast against a lot of top guys and pick up a good paycheck.
Agreed. Centro ran a couple of 3:34s before Daegu 2011, where he got 3rd; they were enough to get him race sharp for then. Best to follow the same plan here.
Lagat beat Soulieman last year. Not saying Lagat's going to win, but he will be in the mix with 100 to go. 3:34 low for Lagat.

Just out of curiosity, is there a quality mile event scheduled before Moscow? A quality mile run certain would help Centro's confidence as much as a quality 1500.
Some of you miss out on what "gamesmanship" actually is. It's a way to have fun with both teammates and competitors, not to disrespect them. It often brings a spectator buzz to an otherwise nonexciting event. Sometimes it takes away alot of the pressure one normally feels at these events, and often is the catalyst for record times. And it more often than not provides the necessary competitive impetus to the fore.
