Lol, no.
no. It really wasn't that sad. It was however, a movie of hope. Very well written, acted, and adapted.
No, but is a great movie. One of the best.
Never.
Nope... you must really be soft.
IMHO...one of the greatest movies ever.

Every time Red, in narration, says that 500 yards is almost half a mile.
I like the movie, but it doesn't make me cry. I do cry watching movies though. Heck, when Prince sings "I didn't mean to hurt you, i didn't mean to cause you any pain," or whatever, in "Purple Rain," I weep.
Last night I was watching "A River Runs Through It" again and I finally realized that the older brother's girlfriend reminded me of one of the loves of my life, and then as I kept watching, it was more than "reminds." They were pretty much identical. That made me cry.
I never cried, but I appreciated the tax advice in the roof repair scene.

Shawshank Redemption - more overrated than even Lolo Jones
You mean really excellent, one of the top in the world in their year, even if not one of the all time greatest? I'd agree with that.
But seriously OP, what parts did you cry at?
No... but this almost made me cry. Look at the three year old helpless and scared on the couch, while her mother silently takes a beating. Scarred for life.

[SPOILERS]
Not the OP. I think I've cried at the escape scene before. Tears aren't only shed out of sadness, but at any powerful/overwhelming emotion.
*** Spoiler Redux ***
Was it the fact that he was swimming in poo that made you cry?
