Wow. Usain Bolt, it is officially time for you to get nervous.

100m
prelim: 10.28 -1.6
semi: 9.75 +2.4
final: 9.75 +1.1
200m
prelim: 20.14 +4.3
semi: 20.07 -0.8
final: 19.74 +1.6
he looks ready to dominate if he can fix his start in the 100m. that 200m is fast and it could have been a lot faster, I would bet, if he weren't taking it a bit conservatively in order to stay healthy for the big show. It was in a 200m that he got that injury in the first place. With 9.75 in the bank, you'd think he could run close to 19.30 all out. With 9.6s at Moscow, he can be 19.2s. good to see and he wasn't about to congratulate the drug-offender gatlin, that's for sure.
Where is Sprintgeezer? Or Sprintcheeser, or whatever he calls himself now?
What kind of sprint times are these with zero wind?

1. I'm not SprintGeezer. FYI
2. You can't simply convert "windy" times to a "basic" time as so many users on this board love to do. There are too many factors involved, and how a specific amount of wind impacts a sprinter's time will change with every sprinter.
However, in the absence of wind, you could expect that Gay's times would have been AROUND 9.80 and AROUND 19.80, probably +/- 0.03 either way depending on Gay's muscle mass, stride frequency, weight, etc.

Um no, right now he'd be at 19.5x shape, not 19.3. A 9.6 would get him into 19.2x shape.
no way gay is running 19.3 anytime soon. having 9.75 "in the bank" means nothing. 9/75 is worth closer to 19.5 anyway or 19.6 depending on the way the runner handles the turn

Once upon a time, a sprinter with a then 9.82 pb ran 19.26 the same season. A 19.3x in peak form isn't inconceivable

More like 19.4x considering that that track was wide... And it wasn't at the same meet.
Very optimistic group you are. Gay won't be getting below the low 9.7x anytime soon. If I'm wrong, it will be in the 9.6x. Nothing in the 9.5x. Enjoy the Bolt show when it comes. Just being real.

for majority of guys i woud use doubling the 100 time for the 200 as you have
however, for a few guys like tyson & King Carl, who don't have great starts ( even when fit ), i'd take something like a tenth off that 200
so 9.75 shape woud probably more like 19.4 than 19.5
( tyson's 9.71 behind bolt in '09 had a 3.32 finish
if his initial 60 was as good as this, using
100m = 2* last 40m + 3.00s
then ->9.64
that's a measure of his his "true" 100 ability if he coud start properly & by implication his 200 off that woud be more like double at 19.28 )
Did anyone else think that Tyson looked to be shutting it down over the last 50?

While it's entirely possible he won't break 9.7, your comment is just flat out dumb. He ran 9.75 with two races prior and only a 1.1 wind, and a horrible start. Gay looked incredible once he started going. His perfect race at USA's with the highest allowable wind woudl have been pretty close to a 9.60. So i wouldn't make comments like that. He may never get a favorable wind the rest of hte season, or pull up limp. But if he's as fit or fitter with equal or better conditions, he should destory the time he ran.

In the 100 he visibly took his foot off the gas well before the line, probably due to the crash mats not far past the finish.

Irrelevant that it wasn't at the same meet. Point is: it occurred in the same season, a week after his 9.82
Also he ran that race with a poor RT, so we find ourselves back at 19.3x yet again, according to your assertion.
I had the same impression, 5-10m before the finish line he slowed because of the mats (or maybe also because he had the win absolutely secure). This 9.75 could have been faster.

His personal best... EVER = 100 m: 09.69 s (NR)
The premature handing out of medals is getting tired?Come back and say all this after we see em on the circuit

Don't get me wrong. I like & respect Tyson Gay, also think he's a phenomenal athlete with the best turnover rate in the biz. Also happy for him now being able to spank Gatlin, but how many times does Bolt have to prove himself? The only thing that can defeat Bolt is himself at this point. Thats if he doesn't come healthy and race ready (as he did against Gatlin). Remember all the hype when Blake beat him in the Jam qualifiers?

...Every year.
Medals aren't handed out because of one's history.
