Symmonds is so full of himself. I\\\'m so glad he was taken down. Maybe he\\\'ll realize he has terrible tactics and needs an attitude change.

So, a guy like Symmonds running a 1:43.7 is bad tactics? Amazing...I recall nearly every LR poster was saying that he could never run faster than a 1:44.5 (that was before he proved them all wrong at London).
What's worse, being "full of yourself" or being stupid?

I'll disagree. I think he's pretty level headed, great racer and does a lot for the running community.
there are two strategies in the 800m symmonds has one, soloman has the other. you can see that they both provided 1:43, which both athletes have got to be happy about regardless of placing.
symmonds has been improving his strategy recently, staying closer to mid pack for the first lap. he even said in an interview that he just doesnt have the open 400m speed to keep up with a 49 first lap. he ran 51/52 today, pretty good splits. probably could have moved at 200 rather than 100 to go, but i guess he didnt want to have to go too wide.
Nick was pumping up Solomon, saying that we've got an awesome team to send to Moscow. I'm not happy that Nick lost, I'm really excited at how fast everyone ran. Especially when Nick and Duane have probably been training with Moscow as the goal (I'm guessing).
I was trying to think of the least arrogant runners in track and field the other day and Nick Symmonds came to mind. He genuinely sounds like he's trying to help others out, share tips, and bring some excitement to the running community. He has questionable tastes in women but I still like the guy.
Solomon's PR is better. He's faster, he's stronger, he should beat Symmonds. I think Symmonds knows that and he acknlowedged it. .43 is not really that close in an 800m.

So Solomon stagnated at 1:45-1:46 for years and now he's running 1:42-1:43? Doesn't pass the sniff test.

Considering he ran 1:43 back in 2009 and under 1:44 every year since then I don't recall any posters saying that.
I can't stand Symmonds and the media bias. Solomon destroyed him at the Olympics and they were still acting like Symmonds was the favorite.
Symmonds isn't on the same planet as Solomon.
Loved watching him win it! He looked confident and relaxed. Great race. Look forward to seeing him in Moscow!
Silly Americans!
Thinking you're pathetic 1:42 guys actually matter.

Any credibility you had is now gone.

Oh David, thinking YOUR English is passable.
You have no idea how hard Duane trains.
I'm happy the U.S. is sending three sub-1:44 guys.

There's no award for the hardest trainer.
Solomon's been loaded since winter 2011-2012.

Ummmm Duane just won USATF Nationals... Am I rite?
So how many US titles did he win before realizing he has terrible tactics?
Great interview with Steve Cram - says Jakob has no chance of WRs this year
