I have always been a doubter of Hasay but wow did she rally. Great job. So what happens now with standards ect?

I have the same question, how will she qualify?

She can go to Europe and chase the B standard, but I fear that will take a lot out of her. But getting the B and going would be a GREAT learning experience for her.
Jordan will own every us record from 3k to marathon
Here is the deal ... I think:
As of right now - only Flanagan and Hastings go to Moscow
If either Hasay or Erdman get an 'A' or a 'B' they go.
If both Hasay and Erdman get the B - the fastest of the two go, along with Flanagan and Hastings.
If either Hasay or Erdman get the A and the other doesn't get the B - the team is Flanagan, Hastings, and whoever gets the A.
If Hasay or Erdman get the A, and the other gets the B - the team is Flanagan, Hasay, and Erdman ...
... I think, anyway ... lol!

I would agree except that if they both get the B, Hasay should go since she finished 2nd in this race.
Also, is Goucher definitely out even though she has the B? I know she can't chase the A but should she be in as of now because she has the B and only 2 in front of her have an A?
Yep - you are right - Hasay goes if both she and Erdman get the B.
Kara is out - only the top four are able to chase standards after Nationals.
Someone had said that Uhl has the A standard, is that true? If neither Jordan or Tara get the B it would make sense to me that the 3 with the A get to go
Hmmm ... now that I look at it, maybe Kara does go if neither Hasay or Erdman get the 'B' ... well, I took my best shot at least ... ;-) Confusing as hell, this one ... !

I do not think this is correct. Kara does not need to chase a standard, she already has a standard. We had three women with an "A" finish the race, I would think we would send three women to Moscow.
Last year Janet Cherebon made the Olympic team after finishing 8th or something.
This year is not last year. Here's the definitive statement, courtesy of Runnersworld:In distance races, however, it often happens that one of the top three finishers--and sometimes even the winner--lacks the "A" standard. USATF has crafted guidelines to deal with such situations; they are laid out at the USATF site. Here's what would happen in the most common cases where the top three finishers at the national championships don't have the "A" standard. If two of the first three finishers have the "A" standard and the other has the "B" standard, all three would run in the world championships. If the winner of the national championship has the "B" standard, and only one of the second through fourth finishers have the "A" standard, then just those two would run at the world championships if none of the other in the top four get the "A" standard by July 20 (see below for more about the importance of the July 20 deadline). If the top four finishers have the "B" standard, then only the winner would go to the world championships, unless two of the other top four finishers got the "A" standard by July 20.In one distance event, the women's 1500, the United States can send a four-person team to this year's world championships. That's because the defending world champion--in this case, Jenny Simpson--gets automatic entry into the world meet, in addition to whatever other athletes that person's country sends.USATF has said that athletes lacking an "A" or "B" standard have until July 20 to attain them. This grace period applies only to the top four finishers at the national championships; someone who finishes sixth at the USATF meet and then runs an "A" standard will nonetheless not be considered for the worlds team. The fourth person is considered the alternate, and travels to and runs in the world championships only if one of the top three withdraw from the meet. The longer the race, the less likely it is that someone chasing a time standard will get it between the national championships and July 20.Runners can also get the "A" standard at the national meet, but this is unlikely to occur in the distance races. First, the races are often tactical affairs, with most of the top contestants racing for place, not time. Second, Des Moines in late June often has hot, humid weather that results in slower distance races.

Look for a race set up for Hasay and Erdmann, either in Eugene or Portland. Since a mixed race is acceptable, this might factor in.

As it stands right now, the team would be Flanagan, Hastings, Goucher. Kara already has the "B", so she doesn't need to chase it, thus the top 4 rule about chasing the standard does not apply to her. If either Hasay or Erdman can get it before July 20, then Kara's off the team.
Thank you, Montesquieu - I knew that I had messed this up somehow. ;-)

You may be right, but I don't think they will accept a mixed race time.
AMERICAN WOMEN WITH A STANDARD
31:04.85 Shalane Flanagan
31:10.69 Amy Hastings
31:12.68 Janet Bawcom
31:12.80 Lisa Uhl
AMERICAN WOMEN WITH B STANDARD
31:46.64 Kara Goucher
31:49.23 Deena Kastor
31:59.21 Natosha Rogers
31:59.69 Shalane Flanagan
32:00.94 Kim Conley
32:03.07 Alisha Williams
Just speculating since I'm not versed in the rules, I would think as of right now, Flanagan Hastings and Uhl would go assuming Jordan or Tara don't hit a standard

Will there even be a 10k in Europe in the next month? I think something will have to be set up here.

No, Goucher placed higher than Uhl. She will go before Uhl goes.
Yup, since it's WCs and not the Olympics they can take 2 As and 1 B, and USATF prioritizes finishing place at the national championship above which standard the athlete has, as long as it doesn't reduce team size.
My bet is the team ends up Flanagan (qualified, A-standard), Hasay (who will hit a B-standard in a set-up race some time in early-to-mid July), and Hastings (A-standard). I just don't seeing Erdman or Hasay getting the A; although I could see Erdman getting the B, so she should be rooting really hard for Hasay to get the A, as if Hasay gets the A and Erdman gets the B Erdman gets to go (if Hasay ran the B and Erdman ran the A the same would also be true, obviously).
