Stress fracture or stress reaction. There was a thread about it a few weeks back.
Ok , do we have a trend with the Hanson's female athletes , shoes maybe or coaching ?
How many men are injured in the group ?
There is a definite trend with their women. Too many issues with eating and obsessive training. Is there a single female in that group racing besides a mediocre Desi and an average Dot? Spence is only other named athlete. The rest are either washedup or their are just mediocre college runners.
Neely blogged about her injury :

Trendy amongst their women with mediocrity . Reeks of it.
Money comes and goes but swag is forever.
Female elite athletes should stay away from the Hanson brothers. The archaic meat grinder approach is only going to work so long and then injury occurs!

Don't worry. Elite Women don't seem to be going there anyway. Outside of Desiree and Neely, There is not a single female in that group that you could categorize as being "Elite". They seem to be wasting their money on "ok" females with a lot of emotional baggage.
Yeah, Desi is an olympian and Neely is a future olympian....yeah, pretty mediocre......Dot is real average too....just one of the top female 5 marathoners in the US.
I think everyone understands that Desiree and Neely are good. Neely has the potential, but so do a lot of women in other training groups. The point is that she is hurt again for the second time in the last 12 months. Desi had to back out of the last Olympics because of an injury. Dot Also had a fairly major injury. And I believe the original point was that the rest of that group is completely mediocre. Not only are they mediocre, they also seem to all be injured.
The other point is they are spending (wasting) a lot of resources. That's a very high injury percentage.
You don't see that with groups like Salazar (although Tara had a pretty good injury and he usually kicks people like that to the curb) and Schumacher.
Amy Hastings did well to keep clear of Rochester.
Meet the Team:
Danielle Brenon - who?
Desiree Davila - injured
Ariana Hilborn - who?
Emma Kertesz - who? and injured
Lavenna Kubatzky - who?
Dot McMahan - healthy, I think
Neely Spence Gracey - injured
Melissa Johnson-White - injured
Guys:
Jeremy Criscione - who?
Bobby Curtis - running ok but no better than before
Dustin Emerick - who?
Brendan Gregg - who?
Luke Humphrey - who?
Colby Lowe - very talented but injured
Brendan Martin - who?
Mike Morgan - who?
Drew Polley - who?
Jake Riley - ran good in xc but not much this spring
Robert Scribner - who?
Ethan Shaw - who?
BUT.... on the bright side, shoe sals are up so someone is doing a great job!!!!!
The injuries have been a very sore spot for the Hansons. Their high volume and "cumulative fatigue" strategy seems to rather quickly become overwhelming fatigue that turns to injury. Especially on the women's side. And has anyone who's gotten seriously injured there been able to come back to full strength or better than before the injury? Seems it more often than not leads to the person leaving the group.
Are you really this out of touch to not know who most of these people are? Yeah, like we should listen to anything you say.
I think what that person was trying to say is that these people are not very good. We know who they are just by looking at the roster you can read their bios. But, particularly with the women, it is not a very impressive group. The two or maybe three women that are even at a national level, they are hurt. That is a lot of money being spent by them on people who are either not running, or they just are not very good. Outside of Desi, Neely and maybe Dot, none of those women would even be a real threat in college. The men's team is the same. A couple of good guys and then a bunch of guys that would struggle to be all-American in college still. However, these so-so runners are apparently good employees of the shoe store. Something they can hang their hat on I guess.

It seems like Desi didn't want a roster of fast girls. It's publicly known she hasn't been the happiest about Neely in the group either. You can't be the best all the time if you bring in a lot of competition.
The men haven't had a Desi type runner in years, so it's easier to bring in a lot of fresh talent.
Publicly known? WTF that lie stays up but the one about the weight of the runners comes down.
Still surprised she left her father. He is capable of training her.
It's not like she was choosing btw Hanson's and OTC. She didn't have a lot of options. Personally I think her ceiling is higher than Hasay's.
Desi making it public she doesnt want Neeley in the group. Wow thats a good one. Where was that made public ever? I would love to see it, link? Maybe it should be pointed out little miss Neely isnt with the group 90% of the time and is always back at home instead of with the team. Whats the point of training with a team, if your never there to run with them.
Oh great! So there is a problem. How in the world does she have time to be at home? Doesn't she have required rehab work to do? Doesn't she have to work? I thought the team members all worked. What about Mr. Spence? Doesn't he have a job to go to?
The moment Karma hits you in the face and you realize exists for a reason.
Mr. Spence. Neely definitely wears the pants in the relationship hands down.
Great interview with Steve Cram - says Jakob has no chance of WRs this year
