So many people run track in America from little kids to adults, In my opinion as many people run as play some of the more main stream sports. So why is the attendance at meets in US so low? 20,000 fans to a once a year event like USA Championships isn't a lot, high school state championship football and basketball games have drawn close to that in the past. Average attendance to track meets in America is embarrassing! America has some of the greatest talent in the world in this sport and no one support so they run the majority of their season overseas. Would more people show up if the meets were set up differently and there was less down time? Does there need to be a professional track league with teams similar to the NCAA? What is the solution to keep talent such as Gatlin and others running in the US for the majority of the year instead of running all of their races in Europe.
