Texas Notre Dame leading
800 in 212,still bunched up
here comes a duck...
fleet looked like an idiot celebrating before as perkins was reeling him in. would've loved to see him passed
I was hoping the Air Force guy would sucker punch after Fleet threw up his hands like that.

Let's see, a year ago Fleet was on crutches, couldn't walk...and you are going to begrudge a college kid some joy???
You're a doosh.
Who was pissed at the TX guy and going after him until the officials stepped in?
was it masters? looked like masters and macgregor were the ones who went down

being injured is a legit excuse for being a tool? good to know.
run through the line then celebrate. not a difficult concept.
Just curious, what did you do to celebrate when you won your first ever NCAA title after coming off a long injury layoff ?

TX took down Riley Masters. So i would guess it was him, but i didn't notice anything

He almost hit Perkins in the face.
Except he didn't. Almost or otherwise.
It looked like Casey took down McGregor and then Masters and Simons got caught in the wash.
McGregor completely messed up the whole flow of the race on the last turn, but that doesn't mean you can just run over the back of him.

I replayed this several times on the DVR, and it looked to me that Masters was boxed, and pushed the Texas guy several times until he lost his balance.
Maybe something happened earlier, but it looked like it was justice that Masters went down along with the Texas athlete.
No one ever criticized Seb Coe for his over the top histrionics after under pressure and doubt and went nuts in Moscow. And even more memorable L.A.
Fleet winning an NCAA title in front of the home crowd after a comeback is emotional to him.
Different than a runner like Marc Davis who showed off and consistently showboated when he knew he was on tv and was the class of the field. Or Steve Ovett when he was the dominant miler in the world in the late 1970's.
God forbid if any track and field distance runner ever acts other than a well trained robot after a big win.
What was the finishing time? Please tell me you're kidding about the 67 and 2:12

Is there some sort of 'bot that posts things like this at LR?
Is anyone really surprised when a championship race is tactical?

I hope you said the same thing about Nick Willis
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=rvL8C7-JIOI&t=5m20sSteve Ovett was never THE dominant miler in the world. Check his win/loss for any year you'd like.

Why are slow races called tactical?
I can understand 5 or so seconds slower than a legitimate time, but 2:12 is surprising.
Why the hell does everyone let championship races go so slow. I'm not really mad at HOW slow they are, but if you aren't a kicker or a favorite then honestly why submit yourself to the 2:12 opening half? Why not just take a chance and run a regular 1500m race pace? Why does everyone act SO scared to try and kick it in at the very end? This year is probably the worst yet. 3:50 I just don't understand why some of the weaker guys wouldn't just make it a bit honest and break away at least with a 2:04 or so. I know no one wants to do all the work but if just one guy decided to run somewhat normally it would make a few other guys get into the race earlier and probably make it a more even effort race rather than who can run the equivalent of a 4:07 mile in the last lap for the win at the NCAA Division 1 track and field championship.
