Also how much do you weigh? I weigh 155 and can only squat 170 for 5 reps. Never tried for a 1RM. I know I'm a weakling by normal standards but curious to see how I stack up to other runners.

on a 5by5 currently I squat 255. for only 5 reps all out I think I could do around 270ish. I weigh 68KG and my height is 1.73.

I can squat 240x5 and I'm 150 lbs and 6 feet tall.
Also I forgot to include, I'm talking about FULL DEPTH squats.
"wannagetripped"... Exactly. It's hard to compare because some people think that bending their knees and extending them again counts as a squat. When I worked out with my hs soccer team people would literally be doing that and then bragging about how much they could squat.
Back when I was working out a lot after college, I had grown from 165 at graduation to 184 at my peak (I'm 5'10").
I did box squats 5x 350lb. Not full depth, but just past parallel for me with the box we had, and certainly a lot better than what most people call "squats."
No sitting on that box, no bouncing. Only touch and go.
5x anywhere from 225-245lbs for my last set, depending on if i'm fresh or tired from miles (all the way down to parallel).

Weigh 135, have squatted 185 for 5 reps. Was having good linear progression, but life got in the way and got undisciplined, could probably have gone higher somewhere down the line.
Full squat 420 x 10
176 body weight.
Don't be upset, my standing broad jump is 11 feet and my vertical is 35".
I did 5x5 of 240 yesterday. My 5 rep max is 280, goal is 3 plates/315. 5'9", 168 lbs I do full parallel, no partials.
I follow Mehdi's Stronglifts 5x5 program. Google it...

Exactly. Most runners/sloggers have a range of motion of maybe 2 inches and call it a squat. Full ATG squats, most sloggers I have seen would have trouble with doing 5x5 with BODYWEIGHT. Yep, pretty pathetic.
One more thing, I'm not a distance runner anymore. I traded in running everyday for compound lifts 3x per week with 15-20 min ellipticals & ab work on my non-lifting days. Have been doing this for the last 18 months and have seen an obvious increase in strength and to a lesser extent size. I more into getting "stronger" than "bigger". The Stronglifts 5x5 program works for me.
Sample week:
Mo
5x5 squats
5x5 barbell bench press
5x5 Pendlay rows
We
5x5 squats
5x5 overhead barbell press/miltary press
1x5 deadlifts
Fr
5x5 squats
5x5 barbell bench press
5x5 Pendlay rows
If you are more into getting stronger than bigger then you should doing Starting Strength (3x5) rather than Stronglifts (5x5). 25 reps is hypertrophy.

When you get to a plateau, then 3x5 is the next step in the Stronglifts progression. I am gaining muscle very slowly but genetically will never be 200. Probably 180 is my natural limit. Since I started lifting weights in 2004, I went from 136 to 168 today.
315x5, down to parallel using belt and knee straps, BW was between 175 and 180.
5x5x225
800 - 1.46
1500 - 3.39
mile - 3.58
Got to that off about 6 weeks of lifting 3 times a week. Interested to see how a bit of added strength will help me now I am back running again.
305 5 rep squat.
Ran a 5:49 mile solo about 2 months ago. I'd be lucky at this point to break 20 mins in a 5k. Less than 10 mow. Definitely need to get more miles in.
6 foot.
180-190 lbs.
39 yo.
Not complaining.
Never squatted all out for 5 reps, but the only time I've done heavy squats (over bodyweight) I managed 225 for 5 reps until the 4th set when I started struggling. Bumping down to 215 made the last set easily doable.
Im 5'10 135 and my pr's are 51.5 and 2:11.
Those pr's are from a long time ago and I've only been doing long runs, mixed pace runs, and hill work so I have no clue where I'm at now, but likely a lot faster. I really need to start lifting cause I never really have and I know it will help my performance...
