Startlist is up, it looks like there will be 2 sections, but it doesn't say who will be in each section. There will be an "A" and a "B" section:
Aikines-Aryeetey
Bolt
Cerutti
Collins
Collio
Francis
Gatlin
Harvey
Hyman
Newman
Ricks
Riparelli
Rodgers
Saidy Ndure
Salaam
Tumi
Vicaut
This will be a great meet, where we get to see 2.5 big guns go, a bunch of Italians, and, finally, Vicaut!
Of course I want Collins to win. I hope conditions and fitness will permit a sub-10 from him, that would be amazing.
Hopefully, everybody will be trying to catch him off the blocks. Once again, he will make the race interesting from the gun.
Bolt or Gatlin? Or maybe Rodgers? As nails as Gatlin has been on the circuit, he's been running and traveling too much. Bolt could beat him with a 9.8x basic, which is something well within his normal reach, even when he's not being pumped by Hans. I think Bolt will show up in decent shape, I don't think he's really injured to any extent. I think his irregularities earlier on were due to money, ego, etc., rather than lack of ability.
If, IF Gatlin rises to the occasion and goes 9.8x basic, what a race that will be--but I don't think he has yet shown that capability this year, and I don't see how he can possibly get it in a week after flying across the Atlantic.
Bolt-Gatlin-Rodgers 1-2-3
Vicaut! If this is more than just a season-opening rust-buster, we should be welcoming him into the sub-10 club if conditions permit. Will he have a better form early? I doubt it. But he might go under 10 anyway! Dude should run the 200, he is MJ 2.0 I really hope he does well. It would make my day if he would beat any of the top 3.
