How come High school girls compete with that? So unfair - most just running on crappy track

she's not competing against high school girls, she's competing against Olympians
Call the Whambulance.
None of what you say matters, as she likely would have done all this anyway....she's that talented.

It doesn't do Kenyans any harm.
Right, I'm sure high schoolers would totally be able to compete with Cain if not for her Nike connections. That is absolutely the only reason she's better than everyone else by 20 seconds in the mile. Right on.
the girl is ridiculously gifted. There is nothing "unfair" about it.
What facilities? Please fill me in.
she trains in Bronxville. And she ran 2:03 two years ago.
It does not matter if she runs on a great track and is coached by a legend. She still has to run the race. She is amazing to watch and look forward to cheering her on for years.

Are you god d*mn communist?
You want some cheese with that whine?
Yes, let's not do anything for our top talent. They should first be subjected to an average hs coach, then sent to college so they can be ridden like a rented mule so the coach gets his meaningless league title and a raise.
Well, lane 1 on the Bronxville track is 380 meters. I think that's the secret.
That's right "no child left behind." Every HS girl in the country should have the chance to reach their potential and train with AL SAL.
Cain is the best HS runner you will ever see in your lifetime and all you can do is cut her down bc your kid runs 5:20, drinks beer, smokes weed and has a 1000 SAT.
Didn't David Rudisha have Colm O'Connell as his high school coach? What's wrong with having a good coach in high school?

Negative. Cain will not be competing against any high school girls again unless they are east Africans doing the same thing she is doing. With her switch to Salazar, Cain is no longer running for her school Bronxville. She has officially left scholastic competition and you will never see her there again.
Or what...you thought she was heading to Middletown next week?

this ^ Cain is a freak of nature. Elite level in high school. Maybe not Jim Ryan level but elite level for sure.

Whatever the talent, if someone shows a lot of it early on, the push is on for that kid to get the best instruction s/he can have. For instance, a violin prodigy will likely bypass the school orchestra and play in concert halls.
Girls her age who excel, in, say, figure skating or gymnastics, or swimming get sent to high-power coaches. It's to be expected.
Not everyone has the same degree of talent. We all can/should make the most of whatever our abilities are, but that takes different forms with different individuals.
Good for Mary Cain for taking the steps she needs to tap into her abilities!
With her ability she soars above the "class average," and there's no reason to hold her back.

Methinks you must mean Nolan Ryan. And yes she cannot attain that until she turns 40. As for Jim Ryun, she is there already. You do know she only turned 17 last month, right?
Please - stop whining. And so, all those high school basketball and football elite recruits that play on "AAU" teams with adults, not just HS kids, that they are all unfair too?
It's called how to get better at the sport. There's no such thing as equality in anything, nor will there ever be.
Also, as has been stated many times, Cain was already near the all-time elites before AlSal started coaching her.
RIP: D3 All-American Frank Csorba - who ran 13:56 in March - dead
Great interview with Steve Cram - says Jakob has no chance of WRs this year
RENATO can you talk about the preparation of Emile Cairess 2:06

Hats off to my dad. He just ran a 1:42 Half Marathon and turns 75 in 2 months!
I’m a D2 female runner. Our coach explicitly told us not to visit LetsRun forums.
